        2. PDF | Biofouling hindering activity of two modified feed spacers was assessed.
        3. Our results show that the EC-AnMBR had very low biofouling, attributed to bacterial inactivation and biofilm mitigation from extreme local pH conditions.
        4. In this study, an electrically charged forward osmosis (eFO) system was developed to recover struvite and water from synthetic livestock wastewater.
        5. 'Isaac went out to the field (Genesis )' presents 28 articles honouring Professor Isaac Gilead on his 71st birthday.

The Ronen research group emphasizes the use of new nanomaterials and innovative approaches addressing quality and quantity issues related to Water-Energy-Health Nexus, and for developing and testing new and novel technologies.

Our research is at the interface of several disciplines, including nanotechnology, microbiology, materials and separation science and addresses the following:

          • Membrane-based processes for energy-efficient desalination and wastewater reuse including membrane distillation and electrically conducting membranes.
          • Environmental applications of nanomaterials including the use of carbon nanomaterials, nanoparticles and polymers
          • Removal and assessment of micropollutants, heavy metals and rare earth metal
          • Mitigating membrane limiting phenomena (fouling, concentration and temperature polarization)
          • Recovery of resources (ammonia, phosphate) from waste streams
