          6. They were prepared for Mr Muhammad Yamin, (1903-1962), a prominent nationalist leader, who had been tasked by the Japanese military administration in Indonesia (1942-45) with preparing a biography of Diponegoro from a nationalist perspective.

          This was duly published in June 1945, but after the war and during the Indonesian War of Independence/ Revolution (1945-49), Yamin revised his text and included new sources one of which was the Rusche edition of Diponegoro’s autobiography.

          A senior Surakarta court official, KRT Tirtodiningrat, was tasked with making this transliteration in 1946, and Yamin’s revised text was ultimately published by the Yayasan
